UPDATE ON NEW EP!
I wanted to give you guys an update on the new EP and what you can expect out of it. So far, I couldn’t be happier with the recording process. Kieran Kelly is a super professional engineer and not a bad comedian at that - he’ll be here all week. Aaron Lee Tasjan is pulling double and sometimes triple duty on a lot of these tunes - Producer, bass guitar, lead guitars… Before it’s all said and done, he’ll probably play the theremin on a few tracks… We shall see. Playing drums is Ramblin’ Rob Heath… Have you seen this guy play? These new tracks are going to be something new for me - very rootsy, americana, country, you get the idea… Imagine The Jayhawks, Whiskeytown, and Cher all having a huge orgy - their lovechild will be this new EP… So there you go. What’s that do for ya?

ladies & gents,

i can’t begin to express how excited i am about this project.

there’s nothing in this world i love more than writing songs on my guitar and watching them come to life in a studio setting. for me, the creative process and songwriting aspect of music will forever take precedence over any kind of fanfare that comes with the territory of rocking out on a live stage. don’t get me wrong - i still love rocking out just like the next guy. just sayin’…

in late June, i’ll be entering The Buddy Project (http://thebuddyproject.com) with acclaimed producer/songwriter/guitarist/singer/overall badass, Aaron Lee Tasjan (http://aaronleetasjan.com), to record a new EP - due for a late summer/early fall release. this will be the first recording of my songs since bwb broke up 3 years ago. i’m giddy as a school girl just thinking about it.

you’re probably asking yourself, “why am i reading this??” well, i’ll tell you. in order for me to be able to go into the studio and really do this thing right, i’m going to need to raise dozens and dozens of dollars… technically 4,000 of them… in return for your donations, i’ve got a whole laundry list of rewards ranging from just a simple digital download of the new EP, to a full-fledged bonafide song written for and about you, and recorded during this actual recording session! now, i’m not looking for one person to step up to the plate and write a check - although, that would be freakin’ sweet! but if you believe in me and my music, and want to help me out, please give what you can, and i will do everything in my power to make these songs sound amazing for you.

Brooks Wood is a very talented musician who is friends with some very good friends of mine which means indirectly he is my awesome new friend. He’s trying to raise money to record a new EP, and will be teaming up with the fucking amazingly god-like talent AARON LEE TASJAN and seriously, this dude….if his name is on a project it’s guaranteed to be the best fucking thing in the world. The combination of Brooks and ALT is freaking mind-blowing.

It’s that time again to push the couches to the walls, move coffee tables into bedrooms, and set up the living room studio… Working with one of the industry’s leading living room studio engineers this weekend, Cameron Mitchell, to lay down two new songs. I’ll try to post my progress sometime next week… Some lyrics from one of the new ones…
